We often get asked 'who are the Dawn
Christadelphians'? Well, the name "Christadelphian" simply means
"Brethren in Christ", and the word 'Dawn' put in front is there
simply to differentiate ourselves from other groups who use the same
name.
Dawn Christadelphians believe that to be a Christian
means to follow Jesus Christ and his example. Because of this we, as did Jesus,
accept only what the Bible teaches. We believe that the Bible is
the word of God, and is the sole authority able to teach us about God, his
will, and his purpose with the human race. From the pages of the Bible we
discover that God is the creator of all things and that he sent his only
son, Jesus Christ, to be the means of salvation for mankind.
The Bible tells us that Jesus Christ will return to set up
God's Kingdom, and restore peace and harmony to this troubled world. At
that time Jesus will reward those who faithfully follow him with eternal life
in His Kingdom. As 'Brethren in Christ' we think that the majority of Christians
today, whilst sincere, have lost the original simple faith and basic
teachings of Christ and the Apostles. For this reason the Dawn Christadelphians
try to follow the beliefs, hopes, and as far as possible, the way of life
of the first century Christians. We do not have impressive buildings or
financial resources, there is no central organisation, nor paid preachers,
but rather we believe that Christ alone is our head. Each
of our members shares their skills and abilities, in whatever way they feel able.
Dawn Christadelphians meet together each week to break
bread and drink the wine, as commanded by the Lord Jesus Christ, in remembrance of him.
We believe in the need for prayerful Bible reading and study, meeting
together on a regular
basis, to learn more about the scriptures and enjoy fellowship with each
other. We also try to put into practice God's instruction to "Go
into all the world and preach the good news of the Kingdom of God",
by for example giving Bible based talks or seminars and making available a variety of Bible study aids, free of charge, to help
people study the Bible and understand the wonderful message contained in
God's Word.
